Insurance & Payment
Can I use my insurance at your practice?
That’s right—we accept most major dental insurance plans, including Cigna, Delta Dental, MetLife, and many others. Check /insurance for details or call (512) 858-6987 for confirmation.
What if I don’t currently have dental coverage?
No insurance? No problem. Gloss Dental Membership plans start at $25/month and cover cleanings, exams, routine X-rays, and offer savings on other procedures.
Can treatment costs be paid in installments?
For qualified patients, we offer convenient payment plans and financing through established partners like CareCredit.
Checkups & Treatments
How frequently am I supposed to go to the dentist?
Twice-yearly dental visits are usually recommended. Finding problems like cavities or gum disease early helps minimize treatment, but your schedule may be adjusted for your specific oral health.
What’s the ideal brushing schedule for my teeth?
ADA guidelines encourage brushing a minimum of twice per day. Waiting approximately 30 minutes after acidic foods or beverages helps protect tooth enamel.
Electric vs. Manual Brushing: What’s the Better Option?
Either option works with good technique, but studies often favor electric toothbrushes for better plaque reduction. Sonicare and Oral-B models are built to improve reach and brushing performance.
How early should my child start seeing a dentist?
Children may begin dental visits around age 3, or whenever they’re ready to sit in the chair. Seeing them early allows us to guide development and build strong oral hygiene habits.
What’s the best way to deal with bad breath?
Bad breath often stems from plaque, gum-related conditions, or bacteria in the mouth. Effective steps include professional dental cleanings, tongue brushing, flossing with mouthwash, and limiting spicy foods. If it doesn’t improve, schedule a dental exam.
What is meant by a dental night guard?
This custom, transparent dental appliance is worn at night to limit teeth grinding and jaw clenching, helping protect your teeth and reduce tension in the jaw joints.
What can be done to replace one or more missing teeth?
We provide both permanent tooth replacements, including implants and bridges, and removable alternatives like partials and dentures. Fixed options work most like natural teeth, and we’ll help you select what’s right for you.
How do dental implants restore your smile?
Getting a dental implant typically includes two parts: surgically placing a titanium post in the jaw and restoring it with a crown, bridge, or denture. The final result feels natural and serves as a long-term option for tooth loss.
What clues point to possible gum disease?
Typical signs include bleeding with brushing or flossing, unpleasant breath, and teeth that feel unstable or sensitive. Since gum disease can progress without obvious symptoms, regular cleanings are essential.
Do dental X-rays pose any safety risks?
Yes. Advances in digital X-rays have reduced radiation to very low levels, even lower than daily sunlight exposure. We also maintain strict safety practices and modern technology for your protection.
